On Monday, 19 Oct 09, Jervis went for his 6th month's check up in the afternoon and was given 3 jabs including his flu shot.
Our appointment was at 3pm and we reached on time. We waited for a while before was called into the room. We were told to undress Jervis as they need to weigh and measure him. The results of the measurements - Jervis is now 7.25kg and 69.7cm tall. After which we were asked a number of questions and told to wait for the PD's arrival in another room with Jervis naked. As I was afraid he would catch a cold so wrapped him up in his blanket while waiting.
Not long after the PD (Doctor Brown) came in, he asked a few questions about Jervis before I started to bomb him with my list of questions. Hahaaa.....
However he was very patient & friendly to answer all my questions before proceeding to check on Jervis's body. He said everything is fine with Jervis and we could go to the immunization building for his jabs today.
Jervis took 3 shots and he cried when the first was admisted on his thigh followed by another 2 shots and he cried even louder. After his shots, I carried him and sayang him to stop him crying.
Here in the States the immuniztions is different from Singapore as in Singapore they give only one jab at a time unlike here can like have many shots at one go.
When everything was done, Hubby drove us back home before he return back for his work. On the way back I bought Mac Donald for our dinner.
Everything was fine till the next day, Jervis's temperature kept raising. A lot of people told me that seeing a doctor here doesnt really help much so we went Walmart to get medication (recommend by one of the wife here) for him.
Jervis had been very cranky and was crying on off the whole day yesterday (maybe of his fever). After the medication he still doesnt sleep (did not sleep much the nite before too) and was still cranky but his fever was down by evening.
Is really not easy to handle a kid that is sick as he kept wanting us to carry him yesterday.
I am just glad that he is fine now :>
